Our Process
Over the years, we've refined
a process for building web sites. We've
worked for large companies with more process
than output and for small companies with
total anarchy. We think we've arrived at
a methodology that provides just the right
amount of planning, development and testing
time for large and small projects alike.
Planning
There's a reason that every process starts
with planning. It works. Some projects require
a couple hours of planning, some require
a couple months.
Nearly every web development
project we engage starts with a Statement
of Work. This easy-to-read document details
the tasks required to successfully reach
your goals. The framework that this document
provides guides the entire project.
Web development projects often
require a site map and content matrix. These
documents guide Kieva and our clients in
gathering and developing content that will
populate the site.
Development
Once all planning is complete and the planning
documents are accepted, Kieva moves into
the development phase of the project. Depending
on the project requirements, the development
phase might include:
Interface design
Content development
Application development
Database development
Site integration
Testing
Kieva executes a customized
test plan for each site project. We use
standard testing methodologies to ensure
that the web site content and software that
is released to your customers is as bug-free
as possible. Once our testing is complete,
we release the project to you for your testing.
Launch
Launching a web site can be tricky.
We work with our clients to ensure that
the launch is a success from all aspects
- marketing, techincal and organizational.
Support
Once the site is launched, we don't disappear.
We stand behind our work and help to transition
from the development to the management phase
of the life of your site. Sometimes we're
involved in ongoing management; sometimes
our clients have the resources to handle
that on their own.
